Burning Lesbians was formed in Kent, Ohio in the fall of 1988 by Anita Smith (a founding member of Toronto's Fifth Column) Sam Ludwig, Jan Barnes and Keith Knudson. I entered the band a week later after a particularly inspired evening mixing the sounds of broken electronics and guitars with Sam. Until sometime in 1991 (?), we created a grinding sludge kind of noise rock in amongst the then prevalent underground freak culture in Kent, and more specifically, the mill dust of N. Water St. -Dave
